The Department of Chemical Engineering was established with the establishment of the university in 1975. The department includes four postgraduate programs, which are a doctorate in chemical engineering, a master's in chemical process engineering, a master's in oil and gas refining engineering, in addition to a higher diploma in chemical engineering and oil pollution. The study aims to prepare advanced staff with the ability to design, operate, develop and manage industrial processes that apply and use mathematical, physical, chemical and economic principles in converting raw materials into more useful and useful products. In addition to having the ability to supervise in very wide industrial fields, including chemical, oil, petrochemical, nuclear, renewable and sustainable energies, food, construction, pharmaceutical and bio-industry, in addition to pollution control and reduction.
