The department's beginnings to the establishment of the (Higher Industrial Institute) in 1960, and it includes five engineering branches: energy and renewable energies, systems engineering, navigation and guidance, unmanned aircraft systems, in addition to the oil and gas equipment engineering branch. The department awards a master’s degree starting from the year 2012-2013 in the fields of energy engineering and electromechanical systems. The master’s projects included important and useful topics for the industrial and academic sector in the field of electromechanical engineering in addition to joint theoretical and practical projects on traditional energies, alternative and renewable energies, foremost of which is solar energy, wind energy. And vibrations as well as robots and control and steering systems. The department also awards a doctorate degree in the year 2020-2021 in the fields of energy engineering and electromechanical systems, in addition to opening a master's study in the field of navigation and guidance systems and a higher diploma in the same specialty.
